Raised on a farm in Pain Court, Ontario, Chad Laprise spent a lot of time outdoors: fishing, dirt biking, ATVing. But his real love has always been hitting the heavy bag and training to fight. Once he turned 16, Chad began this training at a local boxing gym, where he quickly discovered his love for the martial arts.

After many years of training, Chad made his pro debut in 2010, earning himself an unblemished and honorable record, including two wins in Bellator. In 2013, he got an opportunity to participate in the Ultimate Fighter Nation: Canada vs. Australia. While on the show, Chad won two fights, and received a Fight of the Season bonus, as well as a Knockout of the Season bonus. He proceeded to win the finale, and became the first ever Canadian Ultimate Fighter, securing a contract with the UFC.

Since his debut in the UFC in 2014, Chad has become a top-ranked lightweight, and is one of the best strikers on the roster.
